Data Usage Dashboard
The Democratizing Data team has developed a very preliminary prototype dashboard for initial review and comment by users and agencies.
The dashboard is based on data derived from applying the models developed from a 2021 Kaggle competition to a corpus of scientific documents find how a set of datasets specified by each agency are mentioned in scientific publications. The metadata from the resulting set of dataset-publication links provide some initial insights as to what researchers have worked with the specified datasets, from which institutions, and on what topics.
The hope is that communities of researchers and analysts will contribute additional information about what has been missed and get feedback on how to improve the utility and quality of the approach through follow-on conferences like the 2021 Show Us the Data conference.
